Destination Unknown - Flight 93

Despite the inability to capture anything like the full devastation of events on 9/11, this film attempts to do so, quite frankly, depicting the last heroic hours of the passengers on board flight 93, destination unknown. Although the film’s story has to rely on first hand accounts of family and communications staff, it disappointingly lacks credibility due to its uncomfortable focus on the private moments of wives, mothers and fathers and the intense emotion is humiliating. There is a sympathetic quality however that does come from the film’s emphasis on family, and unfortunately the hopeless telephone promises of seeing loved ones soon. The impact of such shocking events, broadcast worldwide, has been weakened by movie portrayal. Although the film provides an understanding of the events of 9/11, it fails in its emotional objective by lacking sincerity.
